Eumundi Market

Eumundi is a little town in the "hinterland" (countryside) of the Sunshine Coast about a 30 minute bus ride from Noosa.  Twice a week, the whole town becomes one massive market.  It's packed with stalls and bustles with throngs of people.

It's such a "me" place.  Tie dye wearing, silver jewellery loving, Bob Marley listening "me". Though my hippy sensibilities may go on hiatus from time to time, they always seem to resurface in some form or another.  At a place like Eumundi I'm like a kid in a candy store.  But beyond the requisite flowy dresses and incense, you can find everything from produce to jewellry to gorgeous hand made children's clothing to quality fine art.

It's a great place to spend a day, and we've been several times during our stay here, most recently with my mom (a.k.a Bubby, who visited us for a week in early May).  There is always something new to see.

Big J checks out some hand made digeridoos on our first visit to Eumundi in January.
Little J. goes surfing at Eumundi's playground

This chief is one of the colourful characters often spotted on Eumundi's main street

The wine bottle and cup were glued down to this table.  And yes, the mannequins are offensive.  But also hilarious. We only saw this little scene once at Eumundi.

Little J. and I during our first visit to Eumundi.  She was  8 months old.

Big J trampolining on our most recent visit. Also the only time we have seen these trampolines at the market.

Flying high

Bubby had a great time watching Jonah on the trampoline and the bouncy castle, and buying him ice cream for lunch!

I bought that black and white sign as a little souvie of our time here. Most of the places listed have been regular hang outs of ours.
